# The Gitcoin Grants Beta Round - Results and Recap
#Web3
Gitcoin is empowering communities to fund their collective needs through the Gitcoin Grants Stack, a decentralized and customizable solution. The Grants Stack, built with Gitcoin's Allo Protocol, allows grants program managers, project owners, and community members to manage and participate in community-oriented grant programs. The Beta Round of the Grants Stack consisted of Core and Featured rounds, with feedback and Quadratic Voting used to select and support projects. The Core Round results showcased contributions across different categories, including Climate Solutions, Ethereum Infrastructure, Web3 Community & Education, Web3 Open Source Software, and ZK Tech. The high gas fees highlighted the need for future rounds to be conducted on Layer 2 solutions, and improvements are being made to the user experience and visibility on matching estimates and project rejections. Gitcoin remains committed to detecting Sybils and fraud and will leverage Passport data for this purpose. The Gitcoin Grants Stack aims to foster a thriving ecosystem by enabling communities to democratically fund their most promising builders and support public goods in the web3 ecosystem.
