You are not the average of the content that influences you. You are the average of the problems you choose to tackle in life.
Seeking content that inspires you is overrated. Discovering worldviews as a byproduct of building something [[Well-Being - Purpose|congruent to your calling]] is underrated. Content has utility, but there are bounds to it, and most of us spend way more time on it than it's worth.
Pound for pound, you're better off investing your time working with those crafting something at the edge of existing knowledge. Keeping up with what all the KOLs are saying in your field is like cramming in traditional schooling - you can only reproduce on demand. Instead, you can make a far more profound shift in your worldview by applying what you know and discovering first principles first-hand.
Even when encountering something profound, one's life experience limits its impact. Every piece of content requires careful interpretation, which depends on one's ability to grasp nuance and different shades of reality. The most influential content is often concise—it may seem literal and shallow to some, while deeply profound to others. The difference lies in the quality of lived experience.
That depends on the [[Well-Being - Quality of Life|quality of thoughts]], and the quality of thoughts is directly tied to the [[Leadership - High Quality Problem|quality of problems ]] you choose to tackle in your personal life and, maybe, sometimes at work. If you truly want to unlock the potential of profound content to influence you, revisit and reassess the problems you surround yourself with.
