The potential of most social media platforms will remain unexploited until we fix the bugs in our behaviours. We don't know how to disagree with people we admire or seek common ground with those we don't. We put those on a pedestal who conform to our worldview. We destroy others with slightest differences. It's us who desire the world to be black and white when instead it is so colorful.
